Membership

Ahepa Membership is open to all adult men over the age of twenty seven years old. We accept all nationalities, races, and creeds; as long as they are a philhellene. A Philhellene, being a person fond of or greatly admiring Greece and Greek culture.

 

There are many reasons to join the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA), including:

  • Promoting ancient Greek ideals:

    • AHEPA promotes the ideals of ancient Greece, such as education, family, civic responsibility, philanthropy, and individual excellence. 

  • Community service:

    • AHEPA promotes community service and volunteerism to advance these ideals. 

  • Education:

    • AHEPA offers access to education scholarships, and has a professional development program for Greek-American high school students. 

  • Career opportunities:

    • AHEPA offers career opportunities and an internship program. 

  • Membership benefits:

    • AHEPA members receive updates on organization affairs, invitations to events, discounts on car and hotel rentals, and access to AHEPA News Quarterly. 

  • Connections:

    • AHEPA members can connect with other Greek Americans and philhellenes. 

  • History:

    • AHEPA is the oldest and largest Greek heritage organization in the United States. It was founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1922 to combat discrimination against Greek Americans. 

  • Affordable housing:

    • AHEPA's National Housing Corporation provides affordable housing for the elderly. 

 

AHEPA has over 400 chapters worldwide, including in the United States, Greece, Canada, Australia and Europe.
